Bong & Lo Veggies Farm
4 July 2009 . 10.30 a.m. (Sunday)
This is my our recounts of how joy can be found in the simplest things.
A wooden chalet on sight. About 15 minutes drive from home.
On this sunny morning, we were at this wooden chalet... We're kinda of promoting this place. We would guarantee u some kind of returns if u r there....
We first stopped 2 enjoy the view....See....
This dragon fruit plant invited the attention of us.
More than 10 dragon fruits on the count.
Jin's mom was so proud 2 show us this plant.
I believe if u see the plant yourself, yr mouth will turn a big "O".
Ah Jin has always said, "Who can ever ever defeat my mom in growing plants?"
How many fruits-to-be u can see?
Yummy yummy...
These r among the red dragon fruits found in the farm.
Do you feel yr mouth watered? Hehehe
I tell u what, for me, this reddish flesh dragon fruit is juicy but most important is that they r FREE. Mind you, this privilege is only being enjoyed by certain people only yooo.
If u r part of the Bong's family, u r entitled 2 the privilege without 2nd say.
Don't be jeolous. If u want such a treat, come 2 BONG & LO VEGGIES FARM. I'm sure they r generous enough 2 give u free fruits 2 eat.
Next,
Jin's mom displayed her flagship by ushering us 2 see her 'flagrant melons'. [Xiang Gua]
There is only one plant but with more than 20 melons waiting 2 be harvesting.
Each week, Ah Jin is sure coming back home with at least 2 melons.
We've had melons for meals for weeks.... EEEE
Look, how Jin's mother while actively looking for her melons.
Too many, seem.
But, one thing for sure, she remembered vividly every single melons she has on the farm.
Don't play play...don't ever think of CURI her melons oh.
Ah Jin, oh Ah Jin, bringing back those hidden melons. No matter where they r hidden, his mom is surely able to find them in the end. Do not worry.
Tell u shared story from Jin's mom..."I had had enough melons during meals.... I also can't tahan anymore..." :)
Look at Ah Jin's face. He seems to tell "...It's again my food to the next whole week. Ai, not long after that, I'll too become XIANG GUA"
Jin's mom called out loud at the back, "I still have lots of them"
Jin mumbled, "I feel like to post some 2 sis in KL."
These are the XIANG GUA we got that afternoon.
A, where has another 1 gone?
Jin's Mom is so proud of them. Recently, Jin's mom n dad have become philanthropists, distributing melons and melons instead of money to those who visit them.
Oh, apparently Ah Jin's mom has brought the other melons.
Relieved seem.... when she says enough liaw so far. Hahahaha.
Aha! Ah Jin's dad is seen busy managing his crop -----
Kachangma-----
He told us, "You see, I have special way to reap my crop. Use scythe. Easy and fast."
From time to time, he shouts over telling us the new type of crop fruit he and Jin's mom have planted.
He is pleased to know that we take pictures for Jin's sisters in KL for viewing their latest produce.
Look at Ah Jin's dad.....
Guess what is he telling You?
"See, recently my kachangma is dead wilt liaw !"
Oh....
I can understand his feeling. Said he, he will transfer nursery to another place. Present position already unsuitable for this crop.
Jin's mom is so co-operative. She poses for us to snap her
kachangma crop.
That plot land full of green leafy behind her seems meagre. In fact, that is actually her income.
She could be a
mini millionaire if she continues to plant like this for many years to come.
A roll of the
kachangma is lifted to shoulder. Not easy this work.
In my heart, I sighs, "What are we if compare to him?"
So, each time when you indulge in eating kachangma cooked at home, think of this picture. :)
Again, Ah Jin's mom shows her bitter gourd.
Said Ah Jin, his mom's bitter gourd is no longer as big as the first bitter gourd she used to plant many years ago.
Ah Jin used to pull his mom's legs, saying through his gritted teeth, that his mom was a real real real bitter gourd champ organized by the agriculture department which came with a certificate.
I nodded and simply smiled.
Sound like, I joke but trust my words, she was a real champion for having the biggest bitter gourd planted.
A big applause for being the past championship....Yeaaaaa
Inside our car boot, Wow,,,,,,
We left out a thing. We have forgotten to snap that hilly area of pineapples.
See, what we reaped on the farm.
Fruitful.... We really love them....
